Marriage is meant to be a joyous experience in the fullness of God’s love. The marriage relationship was instituted by God (Genesis 2:24) and was blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 19:5-6). It seems most fitting then, that the church should be the place for your ceremony. We hope that the church fellowship will provide a loving and prayerful atmosphere for the beginning of your lives together. We also hope that if you are not a part of the fellowship at Central College Church, that you will consider coming and uniting with us. Central College Presbyterian Church offers a very attractive traditional setting for your wedding ceremony. It is our prayer that the wedding ceremony will be a happy, memorable, and Christ-centered event for you and your families.

  Facilities

Both our Sanctuary and Chapel are available. The Sanctuary will seat about 350 in the nave and an additional 120 in the balcony; while the Chapel, which will seat about 150.

Reserving The Church

The facilities and staff are available to everyone. Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis for members and non-members alike when it involves the pastor(or associate pastors) of Central College Church and there is an intention to become part of the fellowship in some manner. A call to the coordinator at the church will determine the availability. A non-refundable/ non deductible deposit is also required to hold the time and the date.

Pre-marital

The normal procedure will be for you, as a couple, to meet with the Wedding Coordinator a minimum of two sessions. First session: Confirm the date, gather preliminary information in planning your wedding and future life as a couple, stressing communication, organization and preparing a plan leading up to your wedding day. Session two: Approximately three months prior to the wedding we will be discussing specific details, planning as if the wedding was the next day! At this conference, we will walk through the ceremony and review the guidelines in preparing for your counseling session (s) with the pastor who is officiating at your wedding.

We ask that couples contemplating marriage at CCC attend worship services prior to meeting with the minister officiating. We also suggest discussing designated biblical passages and how they relate to your marital relationship and stress the importance of communication by working through various options. These options will be presented by the coordinator. Also, the officiating pastor may have additional requirements.

Pre-marital Workshops

Before you say "I Do" workshops are a pre-requisite to marriage at CCPC.

The workshops are held on two consecutive Saturdays or three consecutive week day evenings scheduled periodically throughout the year. Preparing for marriage is priceless, start out right by investing in the rest of your life. The workshops are facilitated by the Central College Christian Counseling.

Minister

The church facilities are not made available separate from the ministry, although it is very proper and possible to have another minister or priest share in the service.

Music

Music can be an important part of the marriage ceremony. Traditional, contemporary, gospel and most classical music is acceptable. New forms of music, such as recorded and instrumental, are being used at times, but the organ remains the most traditional and popular instrument in our present setting.

Decorations

The church owns and makes available candelabras, a unity candle (may use own) aisle candle holders, and a kneeling bench. The church does not own an aisle runner; we actually discourage the use of one. We ask that only non abrasive materials be used when attaching decorations. For example, only large rubber bands, elastic cording or ribbon should be used to attach bows or flower arrangements to the ends of pews. Please contact the wedding coordinator with any questions

Video Recording

The church is equipped to do a video of your wedding ceremony in the Sanctuary. Our four remotely operated video cameras provide unmatched camera angles to capture the most important moments of your wedding. The remote operation of the cameras keeps the wedding area and ceremony free from any distractions. We strongly encourage you to make use of this service by the church. There is a modest fee for this service.

Receptions

Ballard Hall is available for wedding receptions. It is adequate for an "open house" type of reception at which there will be no more than 200 guests. The hall should be reserved at the same time the church is reserved for the wedding. An additional deposit is required. Please discuss the above and other options with the wedding coordinator
