Eric Mink and Hannah Wilson were named scholarship winners on Youth Sunday, May 15, 2011. Each $1,000 scholarship is given in memory of Peter Barrett, a member of Central College Presbyterian, who passed away in 1998.
This is the 13th year our high school seniors have been given the opportunity to apply for the scholarship. The scholarships are provided from a fund managed by the Central College Church Foundation. The account was established from contributions in memory of Peter. For the first time, two scholarships were awarded thisyear. Continued contributions and earnings for the fund have made two scholarships possible.
Each applicant is asked to provide, in addition to their transcript, a resume, a personal statement, and recommendation letters from a church leader and a high school teacher or administrator.
Eric will graduate from Big Walnut High School and plans to attend The Ohio State University. Hannah will graduate from Westerville North High School and plans to attend Bowing Green State University in the fall.
