Thank you for joining us in worship this morning! Here are the congregational lyrics and prayers for all our TraditionalWorship service. You can tune into the service at 89.5 FM on your car radio.

Responsive Call to Worship: (Psalm 66:1-4, 8-9)

Leader: Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.

People: Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.

Leader: All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.”

People: Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.

Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee

Joyful, joyful we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee,
Opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness,
Drive the gloom of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day.

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flowery meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain,
Call us to rejoice in Thee.

Mortals join the happy chorus
Which the morning stars began;
Love divine is reigning o’er us,
Joining all in heaven's plan.
Ever singing, march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife,
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life.

Unison and Silent Prayers of Confession

Merciful God, the gift of Jesus’ life in us is visible in the way we witness to the fruitfulness of that gift. We know that the fruit of the Spirit consists of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Yet, so often we put conditions on our love—and joy and peace are difficult to discern when our words and actions deny their presence. By desiring instant results to most things these days, we confess that we forget what it’s like to be patient. We find ourselves neglecting the needs of others because we run out of time to be kind. In this aggressive world, it’s easy to believe one can’t get anywhere by exercising a spirit of submission and self-control. Gracious and merciful God, grant us your forgiveness and your love so that we may truly care for one another out of reverence for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Response: Take My Life | vs. 5

Take my will, and make it Thine; It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne. Amen.

Message: Submitting for Jesus, part 3. (1 Peter 3:1-8)
Malcolm Davis

May the Mind of Christ My Savior

May the mind of Christ my Savior
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.

May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in ev’rything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.

Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessing flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Closing Hymn: Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great Is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father!
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Though changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:
Great Is Thy faithfulness,

Great Is Thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Refrain

Pardon for Sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
