Nancy Nestor-Baker - Class of 2021
Central College has been part of my life for 47 years. It is where I grew up, was married, and where my three children were baptized and married, and four of my five grandchildren have been baptized (the fifth will be baptized soon!). Central College has been a steadfast refuge during life’s storms and a hug of happiness during life’s joys. I serve the Westerville community as a member of the Westerville City Schools Board of Education (1991-2005; 2014-present) and am on the boards of Uptown Westerville, Inc (2016-present) and Neighborhood Bridges (2017-present). Professionally, I currently assist individuals and agencies with leadership and engagement strategies. In 2010 until 2016, I was assigned by The Ohio State University to United Way of Central Ohio, where I served as Senior Assistant Vice President, Community Partnerships, and was director of Ohio State’s P-12 Project from 2003 to 2010 which focused on building partnerships between the university and schools. Earlier in my career, I was a tenure-track faculty member in Educational Administration at the University of Cincinnati. I hold a B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. from the Ohio State University. I live in Old Westerville, and for fun, I sing in the Chancel Choir, play with my grandchildren, debate the topics of the day with my family, and replant the bushes that my dogs dig up.
