Central College Church is not a walk-in Food Pantry, but we do work with area agencies that assign clients in need to the most appropriate Pantry location. If you need assistance, please consider contacting one of these area agencies: Please call our Church Offices (614-882-2347) and we will place you in contact with our local pantry contact.
How Much/How Many
The Central College Food Pantry Feeds roughly 20 families per week. The commitment of time for our Volunteers to gather and distribute the food takes over 100 labor-hours each week.
We Can’t Do it Alone
Food Resources
The food pantry gets the largest amount of food (80%) from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Some of the food is free while most is available at a much reduced price from the Food Bank. A group of 12 – 15 volunteers unload the 4-6 thousand lbs of food and put it on the food pantry shelves. Other volunteers needed include those who bag the food for delivery and volunteers in the evening to give the food to the Food Pantry Clients. Some volunteers also make trips to pickup food donations from our Community Business Partners. You can help right away. This weeks item of need as the Food Pantry Item Of The Week is Meal Extenders such as Hamburger Helper. Tooth paste & brushes can also be used.
Support
The CCPC Food Pantry receives food and support from the congregation in several ways including First Sundays and Miracle Mountain. Other CCPC groups involved include Central College Christian Academy and Preschool children, Boy Scout Troop 192 and Presbyterian Women. We also have many business Community Partners who provide food and other assistance on a regular basis.
