Dear Central College Family,
Christmas is the season of joy for millions around the world. It is a magical season when we reflect upon the birth of the Christ child and hear the heavenly chorus of angels singing "Peace on Earth and good will toward men". Even people around the world join in with Christmas lights and parties, singing songs like "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas." Holly is so beautiful and is such a festive part of the season, but it also has sharp prickly leaves. For many of us, we strive to see the beauty, when we still feel the pain of a great loss.
In this past year many in our church family have lost loved ones so dear to us and we need continued support and love from our Christian sisters and brothers. These are among the reasons at Central College Church we offer a Blue Christmas Service where individuals and families can come and gather together. We will also share the Gospel message of hope and healing. It is our prayer that those who've lost someone dear will come join us on the evening of December 10 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel. Near the very end of the service there will be an opportunity for individuals to light a candle for those loved ones and any others who have left us through the years.
It is our hope that we will see you on Sunday, December 10 in the Chapel.
In Christian Love,
Pastor David Redding
